Ready for a Michigan Stay-Cay? COVID 19 still has a grip on our global communities. Luckily in most places we’re aloud to be outside. Unfortunately we runners have events we like to do throughout the year, most of which have been canceled through September.
Our friends over at Running Fit have been working diligently to setup virtual events to help us stay connected with the running community. With each event they set up a Facebook page for the registrants of each event along with online mileage logging.
In May they gave us the Head Goat’s 50k in May. For this event you had to log at least a mile everyday for the 31 days of the month. At the end giving you the glory of saying you did a 50k event.
For the June event they ramped it up a bit with the Michigan Stay-Cay Your Way. This event has three different levels for you to choose from. 35 minutes, 70 minutes or 90 minutes of continuous running a day. The runners with log their miles attained each day work their way to one of Michigan’s lighthouses or tourist hotspots (virtually of course). The goal is to reach as many lighthouses or hotspots starting June 1st until July 4th.
The cost is whatever you can afford (mostly to help Running Fit keep the lights on to continue setting up and maintaining these virtual events)
Since the price is whatever you can afford they have also offered an add on for another $10 to receive a finisher medal at the end.
Running Fit is also offering up cool event swag to purchase for showing off you participation.
